It's a shame a social stigma exist, stating that only scientist, engineers and doctors can pursue science while aspiring businessmen, economist or politicians can't. Truly, the stigma runs havoc in the system - preventing brilliant minds and daunting innovators from developing a better tomorrow.

Yet, the Applied Science Academy stands in order to show that the stigma fails; there's nothing wrong, instead, everything deemed right, about ones who pursue science with pure interest and passion or simply for the sake of fun.

Jason Ken Adhinarta

Computer Science and Mathematics, Boston College, USA

The experiences I gained at ASA exposed me to various fields in STEM (electrical engineering, computer science, materials science), solidifying my interests in pursuing a career in academia, and enabling me to work as a research assistant as a first-year undergraduate by demonstrating my proficiency in the field.

Heesun Yoon

Medicine, Catholic Kwandong University, South Korea

It was an invaluable experience and I envy everyone who gets to be a part of it now that it is more fully formed and managed. It allowed me to build knowledge and experience that many high school students would not be able to obtain normally, and it is still helping me in my college education. It's also thanks to meeting good mentors who were very supportive of my work through and through.

Jaewoong Lee

Chemistry, Darmouth College, USA

If one were to distinguish my high school experience from others, I would undoubtedly choose the Applied Science Academy. It is undeniably a distinctive, groundbreaking, and unparalleled opportunity exclusively afforded to SPH students. I firmly believe that ASA represents one of SPH's most noteworthy merits, and for any students pursuing a STEM field, failing to capitalize on ASA would be a severe misjudgment. ASA students partake in practical and scientific analytical experiences that rival those offered at the undergraduate level. To me, ASA has become the root of virtually all science-related activities in high school. Every determined ASA student receives meticulous guidance and mentorship from Mr.

Eden and his esteemed colleagues, who diligently facilitate this extraordinary program.
